The 34th Australian Colloid and Surface Science Student Conference

Invited Speakers

Keynote Seminars will be delivered by early career researchers (ECRs) from the colloids and interfaces community at the 34th ACSSSC. This is part of our commitment to  supporting our emerging leaders in the field and including ECRs as a focal point of our meetings.

Keynote Speakers Announced

Dr. Paul Joyce - The University of South Australia

Talk Title: Guts, drugs and bugs: Engineering new materials for oral drug delivery

Bio: Dr. Paul Joyce is a Research Fellow at University of South Australia’s newly established Centre for Pharmaceutical Innovation, who specialises in engineering and pre-clinically optimising innovative therapeutic approaches to treating and curing diseases by working at the interface of pharmaceutical science and colloid and materials engineering. Dr. Joyce completed his PhD in Pharmacy (UniSA) in 2016, where his contribution to the fields of pharmaceutical science and materials engineering were recognised with the Postgraduate Medal for Most Outstanding Thesis and the Norton Jackson Materials Science and Engineering Award. Upon completing his PhD, Dr. Joyce was awarded a highly competitive, international Postdoctoral Research Fellowship through funding from the Ã…forsk Foundation, which he completed at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. Dr. Joyce has published over 50 research outputs and has been awarded over $5 million in competitive research funding.
