Vice Chancellor’s Fellows Vacancies

The Faculty of Engineering & Environment here at Northumbria University inNewcastle upon Tyne (UK) is advertising a wide range of posts at differentlevels. The posts are advertised at:

The first set of eight posts is called Vice Chancellors’ (SeniorResearch/Research) Fellows with closing dates for applications of 12th May 2016.

These posts are prestigious University posts which are offered for threeyears in the first instance with the expectation within the Faculty ofprogression to a permanent academic position at the end of the Fellowshipsubject to satisfactory progress. There are three multidisciplinary researchthemes related to these posts:

1. Digital Living

e.g. Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Science,Digital Cities/Built Environment/Architecture

2. Extreme Environments

e.g. Physical/Environmental Geography, Solar Physics/Magnetohydrodynamics

3. Future Engineering

e.g. Energy, Transport, Smart Materials, with cross-cutting activities in Photonics, Communications and Control

The postholders will be members of an appropriate Faculty department:

  1. Architecture and Built Environment
  2. Computer Science and Digital Technologies
  3. Geography (including Environmental Science)
  4. Mathematics and Information Sciences
  5. Mechanical and Construction Engineering
  6. Physics and Electrical Engineering

Future Engineering covers my own research field of Smart Materials & Surfaces/Materials/Physics (see below for further information).
