The 32nd Australian colloid and surface  science student conference

Family Assistance and Child Care

We are pleased to announce that the 32nd Australian colloid and surface science student conference will be family friendly! ACIS will contribute towards the costs of childcare during the conference for eligible families.  Please contact charlotte.conn@rmit.edu.au to discuss how we can help.

About the Venue

The Gippsland Campus of Federation University is located in the township of Churchill in the foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges. It is within easy driving distance of Victoria's Mt Baw Baw ski resort, white water rivers and coastal parks, including Wilson's Promontory and Gippsland Lakes. Nearby is the Tarra Bulga National Park, a spectacular temperate rainforest that is home to giant mountain ash trees and lyrebirds. The traditional custodians for this area are the Gunai Kurnai peoples.

The 160-kilometre drive from Melbourne to the campus takes about two hours, heading east on the Princes Highway, or 90 minutes by fast train.

Accomodation at the venue is available for the entire duration of the conference,

with the option of early-arrival on Sunday evening (make sure to register for

Sunday).

Alternatively, living off campus is a great – and affordable –

way to get to know the town when you're around for 32ACSSSC.
